Known quirks
- Battery is soldered directly to the motherboard — hostile to repair even by Apple standards
- App Store required paid $9.99 upgrade for iPod Touch users on firmware 2.0
- No speaker at launch — audio-out only via headphones
- Stuck on iPhone OS 3.1.3; essentially a Wi-Fi web radio today
