Known quirks
- No headphone jack — sparked the 'courage' meme and a lightning-adapter era
- Home button is solid-state with taptic feedback; it stops clicking when the phone is off
- IP67 water resistance (first iPhone with any IP rating)
- Jet Black finish scratches microscopically from day one
- Audio chip failure ('loop disease') causes greyed-out microphone on calls
